New challenges<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In this 2025 edition, you will find an analysis structured around the 18 themes identified in our new materiality table, which has been updated to better reflect the current concerns of our teams, partners and customers. The three themes deemed essential form the first axis of the report: beet cultivation, industrial performance and food safety. As a preview, we are lifting the veil on one aspect of each of these three themes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
Carbon under control<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
We have been collaborating with Soil Capital since 2022 in the context of a pilot project to measure our carbon capture across 8 farms, totalling 465 hectares, of which 75 hectares of beets. As beets are included in the farms’ crop rotations, it is vital to calculate all of their emissions and they constitute complete ecosystems. We have calculated that, on average, each farm emits 28 t CO2<\/sub> eq per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beet crops play an interesting role in CO2<\/sub> capture on farms, as they generally emit very little while capturing an impressive amount of CO2<\/sub>. According to our measurements, 1 hectare of beet crops in western Belgium can capture approx. 90 kg CO2<\/sub> eq, and by applying best practices, we can even reach almost 400 kg\/hectare.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Investments in reliability<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In 2024, we continued the gradual retubing of our evaporation towers, with nearly 60% already renovated. The goal is to reach 100% by 2028. At the same time, dozens of projects were carried out during the inter-campaign period to reduce marginal losses: renewal of piping, refurbishment of ageing equipment, installation of new heat exchangers, etc. By taking these details into consideration, we were able to achieve our goal in terms of the factory’s stability and reliability, while also improving its speed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

IFS: continue excellence<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
iscal has been IFS-certified for 10 years, and continues to strengthen its culture of food safety. This strategy has borne fruit, as our IFS score has increased from 93% in 2022 to 98.1% in 2025, even in spite of the introduction of new requirements in Version 8 of the Specifications. The improvement observed is due to everyone’s commitment to food safety. Supported by Management, this approach has made it possible to guarantee the production of safe food, in compliance with customer standards and satisfaction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
This 4th ESG Report illustrates our ambition to act rather than promise. It highlights actual actions, committed employees, dedicated partners, and a shared vision to make iscal a sustainable company with a positive impact, both for today and for tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
